theology and love

Theology and love. What do they have to do with each other? I think a lot. Lets take love for just a moment and set God asside. When this is done your left with one kind of love. That love is love of ones self. How sad and depressing is it to waste a word such as love on on self love.
Theologically God has demostrated love to us in more ways than can be counted. This selfless act of love that he shows us every day is found in Christ his son. With this example in mind it keeps me from crying at night and from being depressed about not haveing a special girl in my life. As I know God more and more which is funny to say since knowing God is something that will never be finished. I see that the way that God has set things up and the laws and commands he has given us are truely selfless lallws on his part. The things we call restrictions such as things we can not do are in fact things that would drive us away from God which is love.
Love that flows from God What I must not forget is that without love I am nothing more than a clanging symbol. A noise machine that no one likes is what happens to be without love. And love is not found in serving my self but In God and others.
