This blog is mainly a blog that puts forth ideas. It is not about my life all the time. However, sometimes you will find postings about what I have been doing. It is mainly to motivate Christ centered thought.

"Atoms or Rabbits"

"Atoms or Rabbits" Is something that Tommy Nelson said in a sermon I was listening to as I work on putting my room together and attempt to get my stuff out of boxers and into my new room. What does this mean? Well the comment was said in correlation to when a person denies God. What happens is he is left with either "Atoms or Rabbits". Let me explain. There is no God so man is now a piece of matter i.e. Atoms. This of course is the way of Naturalism that was gained through the denial of God through the mecanism of philosophy and evolution of the our day and ultimately that of what has been going on in philosophy for many centuries. This view of no God and man as merely a matter naturally leads into Rabbits. What is ment by this is that man who views himself as merely a piece of matter will then follow his impulses and desires. This will be seen in a set of perverted sexual and selfish acts. In Romans 1:21 it is clearly shown to be the result of mans rejection of God. "For although they knew Him as God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened." As Romans shows us when you reject God you have to replace him with something and Romans 1:23 shows they, "they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man..." If I do not except God then I have to fill this void of what I am choosing to reject. So I replace it with "science" which is really built upon a naturalistic philosophy that my basic primise that there is no God accepts. This is the matter part i.e. Attoms. The Rabbits as we know you put rabbits together and boom lots more will come in a short time. The rest of the chapter describes the depravity that one will be lead into sexually till finally one is given over and is in reality controled by lust. Here you have the rabbit part. This all as a result of not excepting the Lord.

So here is my open question. If philosophy is allowed to be glorified above the word of God in the church through writters like Mclain and others where will they Go? I think we are seeing the answer with several views of God such as the 'open view of God" or open theism. This is merely a new way of saying I do not excpet the Bible's God.
