Job

So I was reading in Job this morning and just thought that I would post a few things about what I read. In the first chapter Job loses all his wealth and his children. This is his reaction to that. Job 1:20-22 "Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and woorshiped. And he said: 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the Lord.' In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong." This so parrelles with James 1:2 which says, "My brethern count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But Let patiens have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." Futher more Job in Chapter 2 shows this endurance in that his wife says "Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!" Notice how Satan had gotten to Job's wife. Remebering that Satans goal in making Job go through all these trials was "So Satan answered the LORD and said, Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has he will give for his life. But stretch out Your Hand now, and touch his bones and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your Face!" Job 2:4-5. As if Satan's disasters upon Job were not enough loss of family, possesions, and health. Added to that list is that his wife loss of faith in God. Job is now surrounded by a woman that is encouraging him to stop running the race Heb 12:1-2 and saying that since God does not bless you curse Him. I am encouraged by Job's example and what God is teaching me. God is telling me that he is in control when things are "out of control" in that even in this disaster time God is restraining the disasters. Let us all have the endurance that Job is showing in the first two chapters of Job. Praising God that any good comes into our lives knowing that all we have earned is evil by the works of our sin Romans 3:23.

So hello everyone. Well I do not have a lot to except that my Psalms class was amazing. Wow!!!! So here is something to ponder. Do you move ahead with a person when you are unable to be close to them? Or do you just take your time and get to know them and keep out emotional tieing words as much as possible? My opion is that you do not tell someone you like them when you are unable to be close to them and give them a good commitment. I am not saying that if you know them and your started somethign and move away you through that away. No! Anyways so what are ya'll opions?

Hello every one I had my first day of school. Well it was good while it lasted. Anyways responding to Briana comments. Yes, she was correct in that Melissa did bring up chilvary some how. So I suppose that I will take a pole from whoever wishes to respond. Girls what is something nice or courteous that you wish your boyfriend would do that he does not do. The classes I went to today was Psalms and Math 110 or also known as intro to math. I was actually not the only senior in that class which was surprising. There were a bunch of other seniors that do not have math as a part of their major that were doing exactly what I was doing and getting the required math out of the way. So I think I figured out how to get my wireless working anywhere on campus today so that was fun. So just wanted to say hi to everyone.

It has been a R.A. training week. Today we went cannoeing and that was great. Lots fun paddleing down the river. Of course dinner was filled with Theological questions and discusions that turned out to be great. I just have to say that the R.A.'s on the Hill since those are the ones I talk with are great and Godly men. They encourage me greatly to serve the Lord and to press on to love others and purity. I am having a great time so God bless and have a great day.

Hebrews 6:1-3 is the Text that will be studied in this posting. Please read it and the surrounding context now.

Therefore is the first word. This therefore indicates we check the rear view mirrow and remind ourselves what was previously said. Hebrews 5:13-14 talks about the need of the audiance for milk (easy basic doctrine) as apposed to the meat that they should be eating now but are not able to. The meat of course being the deeper things of God's righteouness. He is saying guys grow!!! Back to six one. He imforms us that he is going to be leaving the elemental teachings about the Christ. Interesting construction of the Christ. I would like to look at it more later. Since they left something they are now moving to maturity. This maturity is described first in a negative characteristic of not repenting from dead works and faith in towards God. The are stated negatively since they are already to have been obtained and should be a basic skill and discipline or devotion to God that is expressed. Plus I think that the repentance from dead works is being moved away because one is to have stoped the dead works by now. The next part of the list described continualling as to what is to be left in the past is teachings of Baptism or you could say teaching of washings as the NASB translates. They do so because of the context of baptism with laying on of hands and the many rituals about washings in the time of the writting of scriptures. Both convey the use of water. So we get the point. included in this list next as fundamental things is the resurection of the dead. This is great I mean I really love this but for now I will not talk about the resurection of the dead. Finally is Faith towards God. Notice that faith is directed towards God. I think Charlie Clough says it best when he talks about faith rest drills. I say this because the idea of faith apart from the focus of who or what it is in is non existent faith. Faith is always grounded in someone or something. The Third verse is interesting in that they will leave these and press on if the will of God permitts. Just why would the will of God not permit a thing like moving on to maturity is what I wonder. Not sure.

I have throughly enjoyed meeting everyone in Virginia. I have had a great time getting to know all of my new friends. Everyone of you are great. I am going to miss hanging out with ya'll. Its so great to just have a group of really cool friends to hang out with. School will be good as I finish my last year and head back tomorrow. Well call me guys.

I am all packed up and I am leaving tomorrow to go back to school. I must say it has been great to have a new home. I have loved getting to know everyone and they all have been so loving to me and great. I am going to miss all the people in VA. I am however looking forward to going back to school.

I think the word has been wasted many times. I think love should be shown to all in the way that we treat others and the greatest aspect of love is its focus on others needs.

Recent events

Recently here is what I have been up to. Thursday I made dinner for my Sunday school class and my other friends and we had a get together at my house. Then I have been hanging out. I have had a great summer. Moving to Lynchburg has been a good exsperience. I have meet some really nice people and I enjoy the area. Its very pretty and yea nice. I am looking forward to going to Cedarville to finish up this final year of school. As every year is it will be different but that means that there are plenty of chances to grow and allow God to sanctify me as he is always working on me and all his children. If you have not spoken to me in a while give me a call. Cedarville people I will see ya'll soon. Well three more days of work and then I will be packing till school starts. Love ya.

minus character

Let me start out by saying that this posting is an obvservation combined with my understanding of many verses found in Proverbs plus one other book that will remain nameless. Character is something that is not easy to live with. It is not easy to live with because it is most of the time the harderst thing for us to do. Ihave seen this in my own life unfortunately all too often I have taken the easier way out resulting in consequences that I hate. To say that I have come to the point of establishing the character and unmoving faith that I wish to have would be to lie. However to say that I am the same place that I have been is not true I think. The reason that I thought about this was because I was thinking about my life. One of my weakness is to try to plan everything out in advance and predict the path that God has for me. However a question that lays in the back of my mind all to often is. Would I be in a different place and situation in my life if I had shown better character in my past? Okay this is an example of why my thoughts go this way. Lets say that your a young 16 year old girl and you sleep with your boyfriend. Well the natural thing happens and your pregnate. So this starts a life for you that is now totally different. Lets say you keep the child and you drop out of school. You start working a job that pays a little more than minimum wage and your child goes to a welfar provided day care. Is that the life that you would of had provided character was solid and established in your life? The answer is no of course not you would not of sleep with the guy and you would of cared about your studies and at the lease graduated high school and most likely been motivated to go on and get a Bachelors degree. At the very lease you would have a job that would allow you not to be a drain on society but a benefactor to society. So this in a different way is how I veiw some of my life in that if I do the right things as God says, "Proverbs 4:11 I have directed you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in upright paths. Proverbs 4:12 When you walk, your steps will not be impeded; And if you run, you will not stumble. "

I like watching movies. I am not sure why I like watching them since they are not connected with reality. Like Romance in movies are seem so fake and unreal to me. I am not sure if it even has anything to do with the movies themselves or if it has more to do with me. I once told somone that there are really only two things that I honestly want. One is to serve God and the other is a loving wife. I beleive that both are good things and within God's will. Maybe however one will last a lifetime and one is not ready to take place because I still have more to do in life that is best done with only the Lord. I do not write this because I am sad or depressed. I write this to accept reality. See I think God has been telling me something that I know is a part of his will but the fact of the matter is I do not like it that much. I suppose God does not ask what we like but knows does what he wills in justice. So till I am ready to meet this girl that I may love completly and be loved by I will smile and do the one thing I can till I am able to do both things I wish to do.
