The reason I do not like either rulling of the ten commandments is because neither is favorable to Christianity. See the one that looks good down in Austin to where the commandments are allowed to stay on a 40 year old monument is not staying for the right reasons. The court is allowing it to stay because its a collection of monuments around the capital that have been their for fourty years and are more historical than religious in nature. The ten commandments in austin is seen by the court as being historical and is not a mere freedom of speech and is not a freedom of religion. I see that the way that rulling came out as showing the hostility towards Christianity. For instance you go to one of the other four thousand monuments with the ten commandments on them in the US. Perhaps on of them are not surrounded by other historical monuments. That is then possible viewed as a religious statement or procelatizing. The rulling is keeping with freedom from religion as apposed to freedom of religion. Hope that clarifies why I think both the kentucky and Austin rullings are bad.
